“It is my ultimate goal to equip the student’s with skills that will help them succeed in school and in life. I can only give all that I am to assist them in becoming all they can be. I look forward to dedicating my workday towards the progression of each student that walks through the school doors. I want to help the world by educating future outstanding citizens. Children can be anything they desire and I am here to help jump start their plans!
~Ms. Weston

Ms. Shawnita Weston is in her 8th year of education and is a longtime member of the Temple community. Although she was born in Detroit, Michigan, she was President of her graduating class and is a proud and accomplished product of TISD. Go Wildcats! She attended college at Southwest Texas State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Ms. Weston obtained her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Ms. Weston also attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree.

She has an amazing family that loves and supports every aspect of her life; as she continues to make them PROUD! She is highly motivated to do so many things. She enjoys decorating, party planning and most of all shopping. She enjoyed those three things so much; she decided to start a business providing services of personal shopping and event planning. It is going rather well in the Central Texas and Houston areas. Although so many things interest her, she finds the most joy in being able to hand out the gift of education. This gift does not cost the people one cent but it adds so much to the value of the students, their parents and the community.

She currently teaches Principles of Business Marketing & Finance, Principles of Information Technology, Career Prep I, and Preparation for Parenting & Child Development at Edward’s Academy.
